Reflections of Art
Art is found in every home and office, more than likely in every room. Have you ever wondered why? After all, we live in the age of the internet, streaming videos and television, so in this age of high technology, why hasn’t art become obsolete like so many other things? The fact is that you can walk into a room and even though it may be finely furnished, if there is no art on the walls, the room will seem cold and stark and you will feel ill at ease being there. You see, from the time of the cave man, to the present day and on into the future art will always be an expression of life; we reflect upon it and it tells us a story of some place or person and for a moment we can escape our reality and step into that of the image before us. We have all heard the phrase: “A picture is worth a thousand words”, it is true, without ever uttering a sound, art speaks volumes. Similarly, it should be noted, that just as we reflect on art and its meaning, it is a reflection of us. Art is as different as we are and we are attracted to art that reflects our lifestyle and values, our fondest memories and our aspirations for the future. We all want our homes and offices to be warm and inviting, especially when friends and relatives come to visit, so the next time you get a chance, you might want to take a look at your art and ask yourself, what is your art saying about you?
